Worktops: Cut-it-Yourself

In order to prepare for your worktop installation you will need to keep the following list of tools on hand in order to ensure a successful installation. All of the tools listed are general tools except for the random orbital sander. This is a tool that you need to have available for different laminate worktops.

Tools needed for cutting Worktops

  • Silicone sealant,
  • Cutters and router,
  • Hand drill, Worktop Jig - if a mitred joint is specified,
  • Sand paper and sander based on the finishing and seaming instructions,
  • Jig saw, Dust mask,
  • Safety glasses,
  • Dust sheets, Heat Tape,
  • Seaming adhesive and applicator gun,
  • Masking tape,
  • Jointing bolts - you will need three bolts per 650 mm joint,
  • Joining biscuits,
  • Denatured alcohol,
  • Clean white rags,
  • Slip cramps, either 'G' or '
